Summer 2010
Dear Beautiful People,
"Goldtrain" is set to release October 29 2010.
As the days get hotter, the SUNCOPTERS are proud to announce that "Goldtrain" has been completed, mixed down, mastered, re-mastered, honed, shined & polished by our producer... the one and only Damon (D Train) Luther of Scratchdisk Records, who has turned a solid group of recordings into an album that surpassed our wildest expectations. Capturing the power, emotion, and subtleties of our best songs, and crafting them into a cohesive musical adventure that can best described as... Nothing short of SPECTACULAR!
It has been a long time coming, but all of the hard work has paid off in spades. We are truly blown away with the music, sound, and quality of "Goldtrain", and are chomping at the bit to share it with the world. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Summer 2010

As the summer kicks into gear, the recording of GOLDTRAIN has been completed. It is in the capable hands of Damon (D-Train) Luther, and we will be working with him to put the mirror shine on our greatest sounding trax to date. We are making plans for a Sept. release. Stay Tuned for more details.

Dear Beautiful People,
Happy Fat Tuesdy!
The Holidays were a whirlwind. Everyone has been traveling, spending time with family, and getting involved with random curiosities, but we have steadily continued recording tracks for "GOLDTRAIN" (due out April 2010).
Special thanks to Damon "D-Train" Luther for all of his help & insights with recording. Every time a new element is recorded, or track is mixed it sounds better than the last.
The Album artwork is in production, and we hope to get the Master Tracks to the publisher in the next few weeks. We are very excited to share our first full length album with Hot, New Music as well as some Classic SUNCOPTERS' Rock & Roll.

Recording & Stuff
Dear Beautiful People,
Recording sessions for "GOLDTRAIN" (due out early 2010) have been moving along since the computer crash of Sept 09, and subsequent re-recording. [NOTE: Always have a redundant back-up system for recording projects.] There have been some positive experiences also; we played quite a few shows at new venues, met some cool bands, and made some new fans. The boys have also been doing some traveling to Puerto Rico, Ohio, Vegas and California, and helped raise over $8,000 for Ashley and Aaron’s Kidneys Transplant playing a Benefit Concert @ 219 West.
The Drum tracks are coming along famously. 14 songs in the can, and one song left. We have been experimenting with recording techniques and methods, rebuilding the entire drum kit, and have been able to capture some incredible sounds.
It's been a long time coming, but we want to give the world the best possible record that we are capable of producing. If early, rough mixes are any indication, "GOLDTRAIN" is shaping up to be a true masterpiece.
We do not have any shows scheduled for the rest of the year, but will be hitting the stage as soon as we have finished recording. You never know when we might play a surprise gig, so stay tuned.

Fall Quarter

We've been busy playing shows & lots of traveling this summer, but recording sessions have begun for SUNCOPTERS forth coming album "Gold Train" due out early 2010.
Over the next couple of months we are focusing on recording, but will get in a few more shows in before the end of the year.

DREXEL STUDIO
Dear Beautiful People,
Drexel Studio is back up and running! After 90 days, the studio has been outfitted with a new floor, 2 tons of insulation & sound dampening materials: 2574 sq. yards of carpet, 50 tubes of soundproofing adheasive, 20 pieces drywall, 500 screws, several hundred galons of sweat, The NEW Renovations have created a great soundblocking capacity, & have reduced the outside sound level by at least 75%. Thanks to Damon Luther for consultation, and Special Thanks to K.C. Ott for consultation, materials & labor.
We have a show to get ready for, so it's time to go play in the NEW STUDIO.

¡ SUNCOPTERS NEED YOUR HELP !
We had another "incident" with the Austin Police Department. Apparently our sound has grown beyond the confines of the Fortress of Rockitude. one more complaint, and we are looking at a $500 citation. To remedy this situation,we must essentailly rebuild most of the studio. We have been doing all we can to get the studio up to snuff, but WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP! Please support our effort to get Drexel Studio back up and cranking out the SUPER SEXY SUNCOPTER SOUNDS.
Look at it this way... When you have come to see a show and paid a $5.oo cover, we probably made about $1.oo. If you can donate any amount, 100% will be a true SUNCOPTER CONTRIBUTION. Once the studio is complete, we will throw a FREE SHOW for all of our family, friends and fans as a specail thanks for your support. NEWS FLASH EVERYBODY... THE SECRET’S OUT
MEMORANDUM: The CD Release Party/Show was an Event like never before.
Lights, cameras and dancing girls, are nothing new, but... a new digital key master, electric hoopers, strippers, copious amounts of fog, flickering 16 mm burlesque films, shimmering clouds of glitterfetti, and of course a special appearance by Michael "Ghetto Gold" Miles escalated the evening to a fevered pitch of sweaty, sexy, booty shaking nirvana. Followed by a Scorchingly Sublime Performance by Prayer for Animals.
Thanks to everyone who helped make the show the most exciting spectacle we have ever thrown down. We are anxiously awaiting the video footage, and will post some tasty selections as soon as inhumanly possible.

CD UPDATE
Hey beautiful people,
A funny thing happened on the way to press. Apparently, the printing house we had chosen refused to produce the cover art for our new CD "SEX PANDA". After submitting the artwork, they responded that they would not print the CD jackets because they deemed it "PORNOGRAPHIC".
Not to worry, though, we have made necessary arrangements to have the CD jackets printed at a local printing company 'Allegra Print & Imaging'. We already have the proofs back. They look super awesome, and we will have plenty of fresh new CDs for the Release Party at Trophys on August 23rd.
So, come out and join us on the 23rd and get your copy of "SEX PANDA". Help us fight censorship, and get your very own piece of controversial art history. Love and Thanks, suncopters
